Fort Point Light House

Spring is coming quickly.  Already we’re hearing song birds at the feeders every morning and every ski feels like it might be the last…so we schedule our work so that we have the brightest part of the day for playing outdoors.

Yesterday we drove over to Fort Point.  It’s a lighthouse and state park about 10 minutes from the campground in Stockton Springs.  The snow’s still deep enough for some great snowshoeing but the park is a bit hidden of the main road so we had the entire 154 acres to ourselves.  There’s a bell tower (The pyramidal bell tower is one of the few left in New England and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places), lighthouse, picnic area and fishing pier…in the summer it’s one of our favorite places to see the dolphins playing in the water.
