Where does the time go?

We open next week…but our billboard on route 1 is still blank, our new website has yet to be launched, the store still looks like a private wool studio, the rec hall is full of golf carts and garden ornaments and the sleet/rain/snow combo of the last couple of days prevented the cement pad from being poured for the new art studio.  But we’ve been working hard…so many projects in so many phases that I’m just going to show you the fun stuff 😉

Freisian lambs…smarter than your average sheep 😉

Last Friday while Steven was working on grading the roads, I snuck off with Amy (middle photo) to visit a wonderful sheep farm. Janet (bottom left) is raising sheep for milk (think cheese and drinking) and wanted to talk about the value of the fleeces…I came home covered in baby lamb smells and a fleece grown by Kate the sheep…white and lofty and lovely.

2010 Annual Maine Spinner's Registry Meeting

Then on Saturday I escaped again…to Fairfield for a spinner’s gathering. When you visit us next time, please consider taking a day trip West to Fairfield, Skowhegan and Waterville. The country roads wind through orchards and dairy farms, past lakes and rivers…it’s really a spectacular ride.

While I was gone, Steven cleaned up the debris from the billboard restoration so when I got home we burned the pile on the beach…and then roasted hotdogs and baked potatoes in the embers…

All the projects are in stages, they’ll be coming together soon…can’t wait to show you the results!

On a clear day…
