Dad got a blue ribbon 🙂

Family Resemblance?

Dad, a.k.a. Zaven, the grand patriarch of Searsport Shores has been carving carousel animals for about 5 years now…He’s studied with masters in Maine and Tennessee and explores his own ideas through books and magazine articles.

You may have seen some of his work while you were here in the summer or during last year’s Fiber College in Tom Cote’s relief carving class.

Well, after a lot of cajoling, he entered the South West Florida carving competition.  There were over 300 entries in all of the classes…and he won!

Congratulations Dad!

  1. Nice piece. Just curious. How long did it take to make that. My husband likes to work with wood, but never made anything like that. Just beautiful.
