Today…

To me, some days feel like the popcorn kernels must feel inside a hot air popper…things just seem to burst unexpectedly.

I got up, drank coffee and knit three rounds on the sleeve of my peony dyed sweater…typical enough…and then I got dressed and went outside.  There was a cardinal perched on the pussy willow…we never see red cardinals here…

27 messages for camping reservations since 9 PM last night (little bit of jumping for joy here)…an overflowing sink at the bathhouse (heart sinks)…the poster needs to be designed and printed for tomorrow night’s gala (I forgot to mention that we were honored with “Best of the Best RV/Campground” last week…5th year in a row)…trying to be humble and not smug…but extremely proud…now we need a presentation for tomorrow night…

And then I get the sweetest kick-in-the-butt text message…”I’m here, should I order your breakfast?”  Oops…how did I forget Josette? I love this woman and had been looking forward to our breakfast date for a week…she’s THE Josette of Enchanted Knoll Farm…a woman with an eye for color and texture like no one else on earth…so I jumped in the car and enjoyed a couple of hours of gabbing, planning and laughing…and then rushed home…

The rest of the day’s highlights are in pictures because while with Josette I drank a very large glass of fresh squeezed OJ…sugar buzz…next time I’ll show you Josette…white skin, Green, green eyes, red lips and a figure that makes men swoon…another time…

When did the Rhododendrons burst onto the scene?…here I am looking up towards the beach looking up at sites #1 and #2…Steven's here somewhere…
Steve's somewhere on the boardwalk…see the ship anchored in the Bay? Yellow and blue…how Monet…
Steve's at the other end of the boardwalk…look at those yellow iris
He's touring the grounds with Annadeene Fowler, an artist & writer who's doing a piece on the gardens for the upcoming tour
Annadeene thought she'd be here about 35 minutes…it's just a short newspaper piece…2 hours later they're still talking about acid soil and vermiculture
This dessert plate sized poppy has purple pollen…do you think this is how the cardinals chose their colors?
Jody Renshaw (www.thishandmadelife.blogspot.com) is here doing portraits…she'll be back as artist in residence July 3-9…
Jody did a portrait of Norma too…she cooperated better than Arthur the Goat
