Everybody Knows Your Name…

Remember the sitcom Cheers?p5020002.jpg

The restaurant across the street, Abbracci’s, gives you that warm, fuzzy feeling that they’re glad you came. And they want you to bring your own bottle of wine.

Dad got back from Florida this weekend and combined p5020007.jpgour celebration of his return, his birthday and how great the gardens are looking by walking across the street for dinner. Of course this is all just a pretext because dinner from Abbracci’sp5020004.jpg

has become a cherished habit.

Since pictures are worth a thousand words, here’s what we had for dinner. The lasagna is a family recipe, made from scratch and oozing with creamy ricotta and mozzarella cheeses. The photo above is a Sicilian pizza held by Assunta (she’s half the chef/owner team. I’ll introduce you to Chris another time) holding our pizza. How can camping be considered “roughing it” when there’s a top-notch restaurant/espresso bar right across the street? If you decide to walk over, please stop by the reservation desk as you go by…maybe I’ll want you to bring me back a roasted pork sandwich on homemade bread with lots of marinated veggies.

I just want to thank you for letting me know about this restaurant. My son has started to come up with us on vacation and he would love this restaurant. You would get his attention just by mentioning lasagna. And yes if I go over there in August I will stop by to say hello and see if you would like take out. LOL — As I said a few comments back, when we first started to vacation in Maine we were coming to Searsport Shores, you have a great spot, and for anyone looking at this camp ground for the first time they are the best. The only reason we go down the street now is because we are getting a bit older and tent camping is just not for us any more LOL. And I cannot complain, Greta down the street from you has been absolutely great. Everyone in the area has always been very friendly. Have a great summer Astrig!!
